IRAN - LAND OF Mystics
LONGING TO LIVE FREE & WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE
Once Upon a Time
Before history itself had forgotten all about her, there existed a mystical land now called, Iran. The land of Aratta, Susa, Elam, and the Anunnaki. A land protected by such high mountains, and fertile peaks, that not even the Great Flood dared to enter. The Garden of Eden had many enemies & suiters; all willing to tear her apart, rather than see her wooed by a rival. But, she was mighty and strong. And, as the flood waters rose, the paradise sanctuary took in all the lost children of the world and held them close to her heart. Like a lioness, she protected and defended them against the storms and the demons lurking right outside her pearly gates.
As time passed and the waters began to recede, darkness gave way to light. And one by one, her brood began to venture out to separate corners of the globe, carrying back with them humanity’s washed-away knowledge, so her world may begin to live, again.
The abandoned paradise endured the mass exodus of her beloved children, praying for their safe return, all the while knowing that she will never see them again.

Rebels In Heels is a hilarious and hard-hitting journey into a mystic world of Iran and its people. It is an original multimedia-Musical highlighting IRAN, the Persian Culture, and how one Iranian-American family handles getting locked up together during the COVID Pandemic ... in Sugar Land, Texas?
Rebels takes us on a merry-go-round of history, culture, music, food, and politics, and what it means to be Persian-American in the current political climate. The Play spotlights the joy and resilience of the human spirit, protective instincts toward an adopted child and loyalties felt toward one’s adoptive Land, crafted to expose the links that connect us all; no matter where we come from, or whom we wish to love.
Before the Romans, Egyptians, or the Greeks, the world was unified under the Persians. The only empire to free slaves of conquered lands, rather than subjugating them; welcoming all into its 'Halls of All Nations'. But, don't get it twisted, sister, a culture steeped in all that togetherness and tradition can prove to be a bit much for the younger generations with no loyalties to the old world.
Scattered across the globe, expats wear the scars of their history and the shame of abandoning all, for the sake of the new generation -- a generation who knows or cares very little about their heritage, culture, or what their parents had to sacrifice in pursuit of safety.
With only their stubborn love to guide them through, these infidels go on to rebuild lost lives in foreign lands; holding on to the only safety-net they’ve ever known — Familial Bondage. While their generational chasm threatens to separate them forever; a world-wide pandemic locks them all up together, forcing them to relive yet another beloved country’s upheaval, as one dysfunctional tribe.
As memories flood, tempers fly, and bonds are tested to their breaking point, will this family give in to modern influences and choose to detach forever, or will they doggedly force family-togetherness down each other’s throats, in order to heal in the safety of their beloved adoptive land?
The attached reel is the musical side of Rebels In Heels, told through inner dialogues. These are the ever-present undertow of family grievance we don't dare share with one another; the places where grudges are held at bay just beneath the surface of jovial family dynamics.
I would like to create a sound which not only promotes my play and is pleasant to the Western ear, but also a worthy addition to the Persian-fusion sound which has influenced music around the world, from Scotland and Ireland to Spain & Portugal. Please excuse the quality of these preliminary recordings, since Writer/Director is the extent of my talents. I am certainly no musician or vocalist. I would truly appreciate any advice and direction you could give to begin putting these raw ideas to music, and hopefully engaging a Producer interested in helping us stage the production.
We thank you for your interest and appreciate any insight or suggestions you may have. If you’d like to join the movement and donate your services, proceeds will go to promote a centralized Tool Site to educate and promote understanding among all nations — starting with IRAN.
Sincere regards,
